Château Maris La Touge Syrah-Grenache 2020/2021, vinified under Robert Eden at Château Maris in Minervois-La Livinière, Languedoc, is a striking biodynamic red. The 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache blend exudes dense black fruits – cassis, bramble – and dark cherry, layered with smoked garrigue, pepper and a suggestion of violet. Full-bodied and structured, its ripe yet polished tannins are tempered by bright acidity and lifted by a slatey mineral undercurrent. Earned critical praise: 92 points from James Suckling, 90 from Wine Spectator, and 89 from Jeb Dunnuck. A rich, savoury red for weighty meat dishes or slow roasts.
