Mada Poachers Shiraz 2024 is an opulent yet sharply defined Canberra District Shiraz from Mada Wines, sourced from the Poachers vineyard at Murrumbateman. Hand-harvested from 1998 plantings on granite-laced clay loam, it balances seductive fruit with serious regional tension and finely etched structure.
Red cherry and vivid blue fruits surge from the glass, wrapped in cedar, alpine herbs and the comforting warmth of toasted waffle. The Mada Poachers Shiraz 2024 is layered and expressive, shaped by 40% whole-bunch fermentation and 14 months in French oak. Its dark-fruited depth is held firmly by savoury spice, bright acidity and fine tannins.
This Murrumbateman Shiraz will shine beside herb-crusted lamb rump, duck breast with cherry jus, grilled pork cutlets or mushroom pappardelle. The wine’s blue-fruit perfume and savoury detail love charred, roasted flavours, while its firm backbone makes it a particularly good match for richer dishes. Decant briefly and enjoy its vibrant cool-climate energy.
