Domaine Benoit Badoz Trousseau Marnes Rouges Côtes du Jura 2022 is a vivid, medium–bodied Jura red that combines juicy red fruit with earthy, peppery depth in a wonderfully drinkable style. Fruit comes from red marl (“marnes rouges”) soils around Poligny, organically farmed and vinified to emphasise freshness, supple tannins and a clear sense of place.

Aromas run to fresh raspberry, red cherry and cranberry with herbal notes, hints of eucalypt, spice and forest floor. The palate is bright and silky, showing blue plums, cherries and red berries over supple tannins, white pepper, subtle minerality and lively acidity that keeps everything light on its feet. It’s a fruity yet savoury Trousseau, offering “candy–bright” acid, mossy depth and delicate structure rather than heaviness.

On the table, it’s excellent lightly chilled with roast chicken, charcuterie, grilled pork, mushroom dishes or Jura’s signature Comté, where those red fruits, spice and gentle tannins really sing. Think of it as a Jura answer to cru Beaujolais – perfect for sharing with friends over simple, flavourful food.
