Rockburn ‘The Art’ Pinot Noir 2023 centres on dense dark cherry, lifted star anise and cinnamon, with charred oak, cocoa, black tea and fine mineral detail unfolding in the glass. Whole-bunch fermentation brings savoury perfume and texture, while firm yet pliable tannins frame a palate of tension, length and striking elegance.

Decant this Central Otago Pinot Noir for roast duck, venison loin, porcini risotto or a slow-cooked mushroom ragù. Its concentration and savoury complexity are superb alongside aged Comté or truffled dishes. For immediate drinking, give it an hour of air; otherwise, cellar it confidently for six to ten years as its layers broaden and soften.
