Roches Neuves Saumur-Champigny 2024 from Thierry Germain is a thrilling Loire Valley Cabernet Franc, all bright energy, chalky finesse and the vivid drinkability that makes this benchmark Saumur red so compelling. Crafted from sandy clay-limestone soils over tuffeau chalk, it delivers genuine vineyard character without excess weight.
Juicy black cherry, blackberry and red berries lead the charge, with lifted violet and iris perfume, a flicker of sweet pepper, aromatic herbs and a savoury smoky edge. The palate is supple yet structured, framed by fine tannins, crisp acidity and a silky, mineral-driven finish.
Serve the 2024 Roches Neuves Saumur-Champigny lightly chilled alongside chargrilled lamb cutlets, duck breast, mushroom dishes or a generous board of charcuterie and hard cheese.
