Badged ‘Great Southern’, this year all the Pinot was sourced from Mt Barker vineyards. Some of the parcels of fruit were from relatively young vines; they tend to have more delicate fruit characters so they are particularly well suited to this lighter, more approachable style of wine. It’s then bottled early to maintain the vibrancy of fruit.

Light-medium depth of a dark crimsony red.

Lovely berry fruit aromas; eg raspberry and cranberry along with a ripe tamarillo fruit character. There is a slight dusty earthiness from a few months in oak which adds complexity.

This is an attractive, medium bodied Pinot with particularly good texture and mouth feel. It has those attractive fruit flavours of pomegranate, raspberry and tamarillo with a hint of smoky plum. These vibrant fruit flavours are then balanced by the gently drying, slighty chewy tannins and, with the light acidity, give the wine its good palate length and nice dry finish.
