Lacourte‑Godbillon Terroirs d’Ecueil Premier Cuvée is a pure, grower‑Champagne expression of Écueil on the Montagne de Reims, built mostly from Pinot Noir with a dash of Chardonnay for lift. It’s a Premier Cru Brut/Extra Brut with long lees ageing, giving a serious, vinous style that still works beautifully as an aperitif.

In the glass, expect yellow and white fruits (pear, apple, apricot), citrus peel, kumquat and grapefruit, layered with brioche, bread crumb, hazelnut, almond and a distinct chalk‑saline line. The palate shows fine, persistent mousse, juicy yet taut fruit and a long, mineral, delicately salty finish, with low dosage (around 3–5 g/L) keeping it dry and precise.

On the table, Terroirs d’Ecueil is ideal with oysters, smoked or cured salmon, scallop crudo, citrus‑accented poultry, foie gras mi‑cuit, Comté gougères and other refined, savoury canapés. It’s a benchmark introduction to the Lacourte‑Godbillon style – Pinot‑driven, chalky and gastronomic.
