Fetherston Estate Pinot Noir 2022 from the Yarra Valley is a fragrant, medium–bodied Pinot with plenty of energy and structure, showing serious shape rather than being soft or simple. It’s all about bright fruit, savoury detail and a long, chalky finish.

In the glass, you’ll see red cherry and wild strawberry with a touch of blood orange, spice and a faint herbal lift, carried by fresh acidity. Tannins are fine but insistent and a little Nebbiolo–like in their dusty feel, giving length and definition and suggesting good cellaring potential.

Food–wise, it’s ideal with roast duck, pork, game birds, mushroom risotto or pasta, truffle dishes and roasted root vegetables, as well as firm cheeses. A short decant helps those aromatics and tannins knit together, and it has the bones to improve for several years in the cellar.
