Henschke Keyneton Euphonium 2022 is a Barossa/Eden Valley shiraz‑cabernet blend of serious class, beautifully balancing power, polish and regional character.​

Deep dark crimson in the glass, it opens with blackberry, raspberry, black plum and cassis, laced with violets, almond blossom, coffee bean, mocha, licorice, bay leaf, sage, black pepper and baking spice. The palate is medium‑ to full‑bodied, concentrated yet elegant, with dark forest fruits, kirsch, bramble, choc‑mint, Dutch cocoa and earthy spice carried by bright acidity, silky yet fine‑grained tannins and seriously long length. Critically it’s right at the top of the tree: 96 points from Ken Gargett (Winepilot) and JamesSuckling.com, 95 from Huon Hooke (The Real Review) and Ray Jordan, plus 94 from Jeni Port and Dave Brookes, who both highlight its energy, herb‑and‑spice complexity and 20‑month French/American oak élevage (20% new).

It’s a superb match for roast lamb, ribeye, beef short ribs, venison, rich ragù or grilled portobello mushrooms, where its depth, tannin line and savoury detail really sing.
