Flaxman Estate Shiraz 2021 is a brilliant showcase of Eden Valley Shiraz, limited to just 960 bottles and truly delivering on character. The bouquet is evocative and deeply aromatic, revealing wild blackberry, alpine herbs and a crackle of black pepper. There’s a generosity on the nose, but also a subtlety – layers of spice and an undercurrent of dark cherries and bitter chocolate give the impression of both power and finesse.​

On the palate, the 2021 Flaxman Estate Shiraz is intense yet beautifully poised. A core of ripe blackberry and plum unfurls, woven with hints of Chartreuse-like herbs and savoury spice. The palate is tightly structured, with bony, fine tannins that add definition without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is long, harmonious and cool-climate driven, allowing each layer to linger. This is a wine to savour with slow-cooked lamb shoulder, herb-crusted beef or a rich mushroom ragù.​
