Eric Chevalier Clos de la Butte Muscadet
Eric Chevalier Clos de la Butte Muscadet 2022 (6 Bottles) Loire Valley, France
About this product
Domaine Eric Chevalier Clos de la Butte Muscadet 2022 from the windswept Muscadet Côtes de Grand Lieu is a finely etched, organically farmed Melon de Bourgogne that’s all about saline refreshment, old‑vine detail and quiet class in the glass. This Clos de la Butte Muscadet 2022 comes from around 40–50‑year‑old vines on serpentinite and quartz, wild‑fermented and aged 8–10 months sur lie for extra texture and complexity.
In the glass, expect a pale straw colour and a breezy nose of lemon, green apple, white peach and subtle florals over sea spray, wet stones and a faint almond note, a “whisper of florality” that seems to come from those organically tended old vines. The palate is light to medium‑bodied, precise and succulent, with crunchy citrus and orchard fruits, a fine leesy creaminess and a long, salty finish that keeps Clos de la Butte Muscadet 2022 incredibly moreish.
Eric Chevalier Clos de la Butte Muscadet 2022 is a classic match for oysters, mussels, clams and simple grilled white fish, where its saline cut and citrus zip mirror the ocean on the plate. It’s also superb with sushi, goat’s cheese, light summer salads or pasta with vongole, underlining just how versatile good Muscadet can be well beyond the oyster bar.
