Sondraie, from which the wine gets its name, is a great plateau from Aurelia to Bellaria in the northern side of appellation, one of the best places for Cabernet in Bolgheri. Winemaker Luca d’Attoma is considered one of the best interpreters of Cabernet Franc in Italy and this is always one of the best buys. The 2018 is tinged with violet, leafy on the nose with dark chocolate and a signature aroma of coffee powder. On the palate clove and cassis are melted and in balance.
