The Better Half Pinot Noir 2023 is a charming Marlborough Pinot from New Zealand winemaker George Elworthy, made from fruit grown on the clay-rich, north-facing slopes of the Southern Valleys. Bright, silky and quietly serious, it is a beautifully balanced red with immediate appeal and genuine finesse.

Fresh cherry and ripe plum lead the aromas, joined by wild strawberry, chocolate, warm baking spice, dried herbs and a gentle leesy savouriness. The 2023 The Better Half Pinot Noir is medium-bodied and satin-smooth, with juicy red-fruit flavour, fine tannins and refreshing acidity. A whisper of earth and mineral detail carries the wine through to a long, graceful finish.

Serve The Better Half Pinot Noir lightly chilled with roast pork loin, duck breast, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, charcuterie or soy-ginger glazed salmon. Its bright red-fruit profile flatters delicate proteins and earthy dishes, while the subtle spice makes it excellent with fennel and star anise flavours. Drink now through 2028, or cellar for a further two to three years.
