About this product
Massolino Barolo 2022 is a thrilling expression of traditional Nebbiolo from the Massolino family in Serralunga d’Alba, Piedmont, bringing serious Barolo structure with lifted perfume and polish. Fruit is drawn primarily from Serralunga, with a portion from Roddi, and the wine is matured for up to 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks.
Bright ruby-garnet in the glass, this Massolino 2022 Barolo opens on crushed rose, cherry cordial, raspberry, sweet herbs and a flicker of white pepper. The palate is medium to full-bodied, layered with morello cherry, blackcurrant, boysenberry, liquorice, spice and earthy autumnal savour. Fine tannins and fresh acidity drive a long, savoury finish.
Decant the Massolino Barolo 2022 and bring it to the table with slow-braised beef, roast lamb, venison or duck. It is exceptional with truffle pasta, porcini risotto and aged hard cheeses, where its bright acidity refreshes the palate and its firm tannins relish rich, slow-cooked flavours. This is classic Piedmont Nebbiolo built for an indulgent dinner and rewarding cellaring.
