Bel Colle Barolo DOCG Monvigliero 2021 from Verduno is a refined, “grand cru” Barolo that captures Monvigliero’s hallmark elegance – red‑fruited, floral and spicy, with silky yet authoritative tannins. It is a serious, age‑worthy Barolo that still shows plenty of charm in its youth, especially with a good decant.

In the glass, Bel Colle Monvigliero 2021 is bright garnet with an aromatic profile of ripe red fruits – cherry and plum – plus violet, red licorice and black pepper over subtle earthy and balsamic notes. The palate is velvety and well‑balanced: medium‑plus in body with fresh acidity, fine Nebbiolo tannins and flavours of cherry, plum, spice and liquorice that taper into a harmonious, persistent, slightly balsamic finish. It is classic Verduno – perfumed, detailed and more about finesse than sheer power.

Bel Colle Barolo Monvigliero 2021 is superb with game and braised meats – Barolo‑braised beef, venison, lamb shoulder – and dishes with mushrooms or truffle, such as tajarin with porcini. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano or mature pecorino; serve around 18–20°C and decant carefully to let the bouquet open fully.
