Rouleur Issy’s Chardonnay 2025 is an elegant, high-altitude King Valley Chardonnay from Rouleur Wine Co., sourced from the Whitlands High Plateau and named for winemaker Matt East’s daughter. Sitting at 841 metres, this cool-climate site delivers a beautifully restrained, mineral-driven expression with serious finesse and cellaring potential.
Lemon verbena, white pear and red apple lead the aromatics, joined by orange blossom, alpine herbs and a refreshing sea-spray mineral edge. The 2025 Rouleur Issy’s Chardonnay is fine-boned and quietly complex, with bright citrus, subtle oak and taut natural acidity shaping a long, saline finish. It is an energetic, elegant Australian Chardonnay built on precision rather than richness.
Pair Rouleur Issy’s Chardonnay 2025 with freshly shucked oysters, grilled kingfish, scallops, crab pasta, roast chicken or goat’s cheese tart. Its brisk acidity and mineral line sharpen delicate seafood dishes, while its restrained creaminess carries richer poultry and buttery sauces with ease. Decant briefly if serving young, or cellar for 5–8 years as the citrus, spice and savoury layers develop.
