It is hard to write about 2020 vintage without mentioning the challenges! A dry beginning, intense early heat, followed by fears over smoke taint kept us on tenterhooks. We were so lucky this time to dodge all the bullets and the resulting low yielding fruit we harvested was in great shape to make a lovely wine.

How is the wine made?
Grapes were harvested in the cool of the dawn, crushed and pressed in the same day. The juice was cold settled for 48 hours before being racked off solids and directly inoculated with a selection of aromatic yeast strains. Cold tank fermentation was undertaken between 11-14 degrees celcius.

Does this wine spend any time in oak barrels?
No it’s made in 100% stainless steel tanks.

Where are the grapes grown?
This Riesling was sourced from the granite-strewn soils of the Strathbogie Ranges.
