M. Chapoutier Tournon Landsborough Chardonnay
M. Chapoutier Tournon Landsborough Chardonnay 2024 (6 Bottles) Pyrenees, VIC
About this product
M. Chapoutier Tournon Landsborough Vineyard Chardonnay 2024 from Victoria’s Pyrenees is a cool‑climate, single‑vineyard Chardonnay that’s all about precision, minerality and beautifully judged oak – a seriously smart option if you like your Chardonnay elegant rather than heavy.
Only pristine, hand‑picked fruit makes it into the Tournon Landsborough Chardonnay, whole‑bunch pressed and wild‑fermented in French oak, with a portion new and the balance seasoned for complexity without overt toast. Expect vibrant golden‑straw colour, a fresh nose of citrus, white peach and exotic fruits layered with subtle toasty, brioche‑like notes, and a palate that’s supple and rounded yet driven by a tight line of acidity and chalky minerality. It feels glossy but never blowsy.
On the table, this Landsborough Chardonnay 2024 is tailor‑made for roasted chicken, seared scallops, grilled Morton Bay bugs, richer white‑fish dishes and creamy pasta or risotto. The balance of fruit, oak and acidity also makes it a great partner for soft cheeses and roast vegetables, and gives it a few good years of cellaring potential as the citrus and mineral core build more nutty, honeyed complexity in bottle.
About Tournon
Michel Chapoutier established Tournon in 2007 shortly after purchasing 50 hectares of property in the heart of the Victorian Pyrenees and Heathcote. He recognized that the cool weather patterns and remarkable diversity of soil and exposures in this region would allow him to make distinctive wines from the Syrah/Shiraz grape of his homeland utilizing his biodynamic winegrowing philosophy. Named after the Hermitage commune, Tournon leads the movement in Australia towards elegant, balanced wines.
