Giesen Single Vineyard Clayvin Syrah 2023 from Giesen Wines in Marlborough is a striking organic hillside Syrah, combining bright cool-climate perfume with deep, savoury intensity from the celebrated Clayvin Vineyard’s dense clay soils. It is polished, powerful and built for the table or cellar.

Blueberry, blackberry and ripe plum aromas unfold with violet, cinnamon, nutmeg and balsamic lift. The palate is generously fruited yet poised, adding blackcurrant, cedar and smoky bacon complexity over fine, grippy tannins. This Giesen Clayvin Syrah finishes long, spicy and beautifully earthy.

Decant Giesen Clayvin Syrah 2023 for slow-roasted lamb shoulder, barbecued beef ribs, venison pie or smoky eggplant dishes. Its concentrated dark fruit and savoury spice thrive alongside char, smoke and richness, making this single-vineyard Marlborough Syrah a cracking choice for a proper winter feast.
