Gemtree Ernest Allan Shiraz 2020 from Gemtree Wines in McLaren Vale is a powerful, biodynamic Shiraz with brooding dark fruit, savoury depth and the polish to reward a proper decant. Named for Gemtree’s founder, it is concentrated, confident and unmistakably McLaren Vale.

Blackberry, plum and grape pomace aromas surge with dark chocolate, pepper, dried herbs and savoury smoked-meat notes. The palate is dense and full-throated, layering black fruits, graphite and earth over firm, gravelly tannins. Gemtree Ernest Allan Shiraz 2020 finishes long, dry and impressively structured.

Decant Gemtree Ernest Allan Shiraz 2020 for slow-cooked beef cheek, charcoal-grilled lamb cutlets, venison pie or smoky barbecued ribs. Its dark-fruited power and savoury tannins relish rich, slow-cooked dishes, while the serious structure makes this McLaren Vale Shiraz a smart addition to the cellar.
