Even Keel Chardonnay 2023 (12 Bottles) Tumbarumba, NSW
About this product
Even Keel Chardonnay 2023 by Sam Coverdale’s Even Keel label from Tumbarumba is a cool‑climate charmer, all poise and quiet confidence with that high‑country freshness we love in modern Aussie Chardonnay. Sourced from elevated, granitic vineyards, this Even Keel Tumbarumba Chardonnay channels pure fruit, fine texture and serious mineral drive in the glass. It feels thoughtfully made – wild ferments, old French oak, minimal fining – so you’re tasting place, not winemaking tricks.
Lifted aromas of lemon curd, Meyer lemon, white stone fruit and white florals sit over flinty mineral notes, orange blossom and just a hint of struck match and hazelnut. The palate is medium‑bodied yet tightly wound, packed with grapefruit pith, nectarine, citrus and a shortbread/ginger biscuit savouriness that stretches into a long, saline, mouth‑watering finish. That piercing acidity and mineral line keep everything focused, making each sip feel bright, cool and seriously refreshing.
On the table, 2023 Even Keel Chardonnay shines with Coffin Bay oysters, kingfish crudo or simple grilled South Australian garfish, its acidity cutting neatly through brine and oil. It is equally at home with roast chicken and tarragon, pork loin with crackling, or a rich cauliflower gratin where that citrus‑charged line keeps the palate fresh. For a casual night, pour it alongside washed‑rind cheeses or a lemony roast vegetable tart and watch the bottle disappear.
