Craiglee Shiraz 2021 from Pat Carmody’s historic Sunbury vineyard is a beautifully savoury Victorian Shiraz, combining dark plum fruit, cedar, pepper and earthy complexity with superb poise. This is a distinctive cool-climate red with real pedigree, offering polished richness, firm structure and the ability to age gracefully.

Dark cherry, blackberry and boysenberry mingle with red plum, black tea, potpourri, clove, anise and tobacco leaf. Craiglee Shiraz is full-bodied yet fresh, layering sweet cedary oak and soy-like savour over ripe fruit, while gritty, finely shaped tannins give the long finish serious backbone.

Decant this Sunbury Shiraz for an hour and pair it with lamb chops, slow-roasted beef, duck confit or mushroom pizza. Its peppery savouriness and dark-fruit depth shine with smoky, earthy flavours, while the lively acidity keeps richer dishes balanced. It will reward patient cellaring over the next decade.
