Casisano Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 is a traditional, elegantly structured Brunello from the south‑eastern hills of Montalcino, showing deep fruit, spice and serious ageing potential in a beautifully composed frame. From the high‑altitude Casisano estate at around 480 metres, surrounded by old forests and galestro‑rich soils, it’s very much classic, terroir‑driven Sangiovese Grosso.

In the glass, Casisano Brunello 2019 is intense ruby red with a garnet tinge and an aromatic mix of fresh and dried red fruits (cherry, strawberry, plum), cedar and spice, with hints of menthol, violet pastille and a subtle balsamic/mineral edge. The palate is harmonious and powerful yet poised: full‑bodied with great tannic structure and excellent acidity, layered wild berry and tangerine‑zest notes, and a long, persistent finish touched by red liquorice, orange and gently grippy tannins. It’s built for the cellar, but already vivid and expressive with air.

This Brunello is superb with bistecca alla fiorentina, slow‑braised beef or lamb, game dishes and rich mushroom or truffle pasta, where its structure, acidity and savoury complexity lock in perfectly. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or mature pecorino; serve around 18 °C and decant for a couple of hours to let those layered aromas unfurl.
