Aunt Alice Ocean Chardonnay 2025 (12 Bottles) Tamar Valley, TAS
About this product
Aunt Alice Ocean Chardonnay 2025 by Aunt Alice (Alice Davidson), drawn from Coal River Valley and Derwent Valley fruit in Tasmania, is a vibrant, ocean‑tinged cool‑climate chardonnay with precision, energy and a real sense of place. This Aunt Alice “Ocean” Chardonnay 2025 blends whole‑bunch pressing, wild barrel ferment and carefully judged oak to deliver a fine‑boned yet textural style.
Aromas of citrus blossom, white peach and fresh nectarine lift immediately from the glass, joined by subtle sea‑spray, almond‑meal and restrained French oak notes that sit neatly in the background rather than dominating. On the palate it’s bright and finely etched – plenty of stonefruit, nectarine and lemon zest, with about 40% malolactic fermentation providing creaminess, complexity and length while crisp natural acidity keeps everything taut and saline.
Food‑wise, this is a natural fit with Tasmanian seafood – think oysters, scallops, grilled fish or prawn linguine – where that citrus drive and gentle creaminess sing alongside briny, ocean‑influenced flavours. It will also shine with roast chicken, soft cheeses and refined vegetable dishes, and has the structure to reward a few years in the cellar if you like your chardonnay with a bit more bottle‑aged richness.
