Atze’s Corner The Giant Durif 2022 is a powerful and richly textured wine from the Barossa Valley, made from vines planted in 2005 in the Koonunga subregion. With a deep, dark purple colour, it offers a bold bouquet of barbecue smoke, licorice, and ripe plums. The palate delivers concentrated black fruits and harmonious spices wrapped in savory tannins, balanced by subtle oak elaboration from 18 months aging in a mix of new American and seasoned French and American oak.

This full-bodied wine is smooth and structured, with a long and elegant finish. It pairs exceptionally well with hearty dishes like rabbit or a juicy sirloin steak. The Giant Durif has great aging potential, recommended for up to 15 years, though it can also be enjoyed now with decanting.
