About this product
Kilikanoon Prodigal Grenache 2023 from Clare Valley is a bright yet deeply flavoured old‑vine Grenache – translucent ruby in the glass but seriously generous, with plush fruit and seamless structure. Prodigal Grenache 2023 shows the kind of single‑varietal purity only dry‑grown Watervale vines can deliver.
Expect lifted strawberry and raspberry with dark cherries, rose petals and pot pourri, backed by Turkish Delight, grenadine, blueberry, lavender, salty herbs and subtle smoky French oak. The palate is smooth, squishy and enveloping yet light on its feet, offering tart raspberry and darker berries over milk chocolate, cocoa and spice, all carried by bright acidity, silky tannins and a fine, lingering finish.
This is tailor‑made for crisp pork belly with apple and horseradish, charcuterie, grilled lamb cutlets, roasted veg and tapas, where its sweet‑sour red fruits and savoury herb notes can really play with fat and salt. Kilikanoon Prodigal Grenache 2023 is drinking beautifully now but will comfortably evolve for 8–10 years, making it a smart choice for both immediate pleasure and the cellar.
