Kilikanoon Blocks Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 from Clare Valley is a boldly structured, estate cabernet named after one of Kilikanoon’s founding vineyards – deep, fragrant and built for serious cellaring as well as hearty drinking now. Blocks Road Cabernet 2019 marries concentrated black fruit with classic Clare leaf and spice.

Fragrant choc‑mint, kirsch and ripe plum surge from the glass, layered with blackberry, mulberry, cassis, tobacco leaf, bell pepper, cedar, clove, cinnamon and smoky oak char. On the palate it’s medium‑to‑full bodied and beautifully composed, with juicy cassis and dense black fruits flowing over seductively polished, velvety tannins, bright acidity and lingering cigarbox and vanilla spice, finishing long and confident.

This is tailor‑made for rib‑eye steak, lamb racks, slow‑braised beef cheeks, roast venison and mushroom and thyme pies, as well as mature cheddar, Gouda and other hard, nutty cheeses where its structure and savoury detail can shine.
