Best’s Great Western Chardonnay, from Best’s Wines in Great Western, Victoria, is an exquisite cool-climate white crafted by Jacob Parton & Simon Fennell. Medium intensity with white-gold hues, it opens with a complex bouquet of grapefruit, white nectarine and hints of flint and roasted nuts. The palate reveals blossom and stone fruit core-white peach and nectarine-balanced by creamy mid-palate texture, butter-roasted hazelnut secondary characters, fresh acidity and clean minerality. At 12.0% ABV, sealed under screwcap. No major published scores yet, but early reception notes its elegance, depth and excellent value.
