Andre & Michel Quenard Jacquère ‘Vieilles Vignes 1930’ Chignin Savoie 2024 from the steep limestone scree of Chignin is a more concentrated, old‑vine take on alpine Jacquère – still feather‑light, but with extra depth, texture and length. This 2024 “Vieilles Vignes 1930” comes off very old Jacquère plantings on brutally steep, south‑facing slopes, giving a rounder, more complex style than Les Cristallins while keeping that crystalline freshness.

In the glass you’re looking at a pale, shiny yellow colour with aromas of crisp green apple, pear, citrus zest and white flowers, layered over subtle exotic fruit hints, wet stone, alpine herbs and a flicker of flinty reduction. The palate is round yet intensely mineral, combining juicy fruit with chalky, salty drive and persistent flavours, finishing dry, fresh and long without any heaviness. It’s pure, precise mountain white that shows Jacquère at its most serious while staying incredibly drinkable.

Food‑wise, Andre & Michel Quenard Jacquère ‘Vieilles Vignes 1930’ 2024 is superb with oysters, shellfish, lake fish, asparagus, alpine friture, choucroute, raclette and fondue, where its roundness and mineral cut really sing. It’s also excellent as an elevated aperitif with goat’s cheese, simple snacks and light salads, making it a top choice if you want a more textural, old‑vine Savoie white that still feels light on its feet.
