Fermoy Estate Merlot, expertly crafted by winemaker Jeremy Hodgson at Fermoy Estate in Wilyabrup, Margaret River, Western Australia. The blend comprises 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, matured for 18 months in French oak barriques (20% new, 80% seasoned) from Bordeaux coopers. It pours a vibrant ruby red, exuding aromas of redcurrant, plum, blackberry, tobacco leaf, cooking herbs, and anise spice. On the palate, plush spiced plum and redcurrant jelly are layered with thyme, bay, liquorice, ground coffee, and dark-chocolate spice, all held together by silken tannins and fine structure. Scored 88 points by Stuart Knox of The Real Review, this medium-bodied Merlot offers both immediate charm and cellaring potential through 2032.
