Rapid Crossing Zinfandel 2023 (6 Bottles) Barossa Valley, SA
About this product
Rapid Crossing Zinfandel 2023 by 1837 Barossa from the Barossa is a bold, 16% alc/vol Zinfandel that’s deeply coloured, strapping and powerful, yet surprisingly silky and polished in the glass. This 2023 Rapid Crossing Zinfandel is made to impress lovers of big, character‑packed reds.
In the glass you’ll find ripe blueberry and boysenberry, waves of dark berry fruit, liquorice, star anise and creamy vanilla, all wrapped in a warm, spicy lift. The palate is full‑bodied, fresh and lively despite the heft, with a concentrated core of plush dark fruits rolling into layers of spice and a gently smoky, long finish. Basket pressing, time in seasoned French and American oak and vegan‑friendly, unfined handling give it a silken texture and real Barossa presence.
Food‑wise, Rapid Crossing Zinfandel 2023 is ideal for smoky barbecue – chargrilled steaks, brisket, sticky ribs or flame‑kissed snags – and rich slow‑cooked curries where the deep fruit and alcohol can stand up to big flavours. It also pairs brilliantly with mature cheddar, blue cheese or sticky glazed pork. Drinking superbly now with 2–10 years of cellaring potential, it’s a standout centrepiece red for hearty meals and winter nights.
