Zema Shiraz 2019 from Zema Estate in Coonawarra is a vibrant, cool‑climate Shiraz that balances richness with elegance – medium‑bodied, mulberry‑and‑plum driven and shaped by that trademark terra rossa freshness. Zema Estate Shiraz 2019 is a super‑reliable Coonawarra red with plenty of flavour and cellar potential.

The nose is filled with raspberry, ripe plum, cedar and spice over vanilla and coconut, with dark berries and chocolate adding depth. On the palate it’s medium‑bodied, rich yet restrained and well‑structured, showing mulberry, cherry‑plum sweetness and peppery spice wrapped in soft tannins and subtle French and American oak, leading to a long, stylish, lingering finish.

It’s tailor‑made for ossobuco alla Milanese, duck ragu with pappardelle, grilled steak, lamb chops and barbecued meats, as well as hearty pasta sauces, where its dark‑fruit core and spice can really play with savoury richness. Zema Shiraz 2019 drinks beautifully now but will continue to gain complexity for at least ten years in the cellar.
