The Willows Bonesetter Shiraz 2022 (6 Bottles) Barossa Valley, SA
About this product
The Willows Bonesetter Shiraz 2022 from The Willows Vineyard in the Barossa Valley strides out of the glass with deep crimson‑purple colour and that old‑school Barossa swagger – dense, dark and beautifully composed. Born from the original 1960s Bonesetter’s block and matured for around two years in quality French oak hogsheads, it is very much the estate’s flagship expression. This is Barossa Shiraz for drinkers who want history, power and polish in one bottle.
Chocolate, cassis and ripe plum are the first impressions, weaving into black cherry, choco‑berry richness and a touch of chinotto, coffee and savoury earth as it opens in the glass. The feel in the mouth is all voluptuous Barossa richness and structure: intense and powerful ripe fruit, layered with stylish savoury oak, fine‑grained tannins and a long, firm finish that hints at serious cellaring potential. It is a multi‑layered powerhouse, yet there is balance and minerally drive keeping it from ever feeling clumsy.
This 2022 Bonesetter Shiraz is built for hearty, flavour‑packed food – think grilled or roast beef, barbeque ribs, spicy sausages or a slow‑roasted lamb shoulder. It is equally happy alongside rich beef stews or strong cheeses like mature cheddar or aged Gouda, making it a natural choice for winter dinners, special roasts and long Barossa‑inspired Sunday lunches.
