Plantagenet Wyjup Collection Chardonnay 2023 by Plantagenet from Mount Barker shows smoky, flinty notes layered over nougat, brioche and toast with underpinning green apple and lime characters. Aromas of struck match, soft stone fruit and subtle oak spice rise from the glass, and the palate is richly structured with 50-year-old vines, full solids and about 50% new oak giving texture, finishing dry, savoury and very long. It received 95 points in the Halliday Wine Companion.
