About this product
Mitolo Serpico Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a powerful, appassimento-inspired McLaren Vale Cabernet from Mitolo Wines, named for the uncompromising detective Frank Serpico. Partially dried grapes bring extra richness and dark-fruit concentration, while the superb 2021 season supplies precision, freshness and serious cellar potential.
Blackcurrant, blackberry and liqueured cherry meet bay leaf, sage, warm earth, cigar box, aniseed, dark chocolate and coffee. The palate is deep and plush but impressively controlled, with caramel-like richness, succulent acidity and fine, powdery tannins driving a long, savoury finish.
Decant Mitolo Serpico 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon for slow-braised beef cheeks, venison loin, roast lamb or aged Parmigiano Reggiano. Its commanding depth and savoury structure demand richly flavoured food, while its balance and firm tannins make this McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon a smart addition to the cellar.
