Dr H Thanisch ‘Berncasteler Doctor’ Riesling Kabinett 2024 is a beautifully lifted Mosel Riesling from one of Germany’s most revered slate vineyards, marrying aristocratic finesse with immediate, thirst-quenching charm. From the steep, south-facing Doctor site above Bernkastel, it delivers fragrant fruit, crystalline acidity and unmistakable mineral tension.
Ripe peach, apricot, Mirabelle plum and orange blossom aromas unfold with candied lime, sultana and delicate spice. The palate is light on its feet yet richly flavoured, with juicy acidity balancing a gently off-dry sweetness. Blossom honey, peach compote and orange-marmalade notes linger through a long, slate-tinged finish.
Dr H Thanisch Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Kabinett 2024 is superb with Thai curries, aromatic Vietnamese dishes, sushi, pork schnitzel, salty charcuterie or soft washed-rind cheese.
