Cape Mentelle Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, crafted by the Cape Mentelle team in Margaret River (Western Australia), is a powerful flagship example of Cabernet blend (90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot). Deep garnet with inky core and youthful purple rim, it presents aromas of rich blackcurrant, cassis, dried herbs, clove and bay leaf. On the palate it is bold and structured: dark berry fruits, bitter chocolate, cedar oak and savoury tobacco, with finely grained tannins and a saline thread illuminating a long finish. 14.5% ABV, matured 18 months in 58% new French oak. Awarded 96 points by Falstaff, 95 points by James Halliday and The Vintage Journal.
