Adelina Estate Shiraz Mataro 2023 from Col McBryde’s organically farmed Springfarm vineyard in the Clare Valley is a seriously stylish blend, combining old-vine Shiraz with Mataro for fragrance, savoury depth and beautifully measured power. It is vibrant, medium-weight and far more refined than its 13.5% alcohol suggests.
Blackberry, dark cherry and blueberry mingle with bitter chocolate, cured meat, dried herbs, earth, graphite and orange peel. Adelina Shiraz Mataro 2023 is juicy yet firmly framed, delivering fresh acidity, fleshy fruit and fine dusty tannins, with a nutty, spicy and long savoury finish.
Pair this Clare Valley Shiraz Mataro with lamb shoulder, rosemary-crusted pork, beef and mushroom pie or chargrilled eggplant with tahini. Its savoury structure works brilliantly with smoky, earthy flavours, while its buoyant fruit and freshness make it just as rewarding alongside a substantial cheese and charcuterie board.
