Sparkling Rosé
Sparkling Rosé is the pink fizz that brings a bit of fun and flair to any occasion, think of it as the best bits of rosé and sparkling wine rolled into one. It gets its gorgeous blush colour from a short soak of red grape skins with the juice, usually just a few hours, which gives you everything from pale salmon to vibrant pink in the glass.
There are a couple of main ways to make it: the traditional method (like Champagne), where the wine gets its bubbles from a second fermentation in the bottle, and the tank (Charmat) method, where the sparkle is created in a big pressurised tank. Both deliver lively bubbles, but the traditional method often brings a finer mousse and more complexity, while the tank method keeps things super fresh and fruit-driven.
Grape-wise, you’ll see everything from Pinot Noir and Grenache to Sangiovese and even Shiraz, depending on where it’s made. Expect flavours of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and sometimes a hint of citrus or florals. Aussie Sparkling Rosé can be bone-dry or a little sweet, so there’s a style for every palate, just check the label for clues like “Brut” (dry) or “Demi-Sec” (sweeter).
It’s a crowd-pleaser with food, too—pair it with seafood, charcuterie, salads, or just pop a bottle for a celebration. Serve it chilled in a flute or a white wine glass to really let those bubbles and aromas sing. Whether you’re at a picnic, a party, or just after a midweek treat, Sparkling Rosé is the ultimate all-rounder, guaranteed to lift the mood and keep things lively.
