About this product
Plantagenet Wyjup Collection Shiraz 2022 is a serious, limited-release Mount Barker Shiraz from Plantagenet, drawn exclusively from the Wyjup vineyard for the first time and bottled in just 1,440 individually numbered examples. It is cool-climate Shiraz with depth, perfume and real finesse.
Deep maroon with purple flashes, it opens on blackberry, forest berry, violet, plum and dark cherry, woven with black olive, fresh thyme, liquorice, graphite and dark chocolate. The 2022 Plantagenet Wyjup Collection Shiraz is plush yet taut, with dense blue fruit, savoury French oak and fine-grained tannins.
Pour this Mount Barker Shiraz with traditional osso buco, slow-braised lamb shanks, roast venison or mushroom-and-thyme pie. Its dark-fruit richness and herbal savouriness love slow-cooked dishes, while bright natural acidity and finely structured tannins make it compelling now and rewarding in the cellar.
