Stonehaven Limited Vineyard Release Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is a full‑bodied, single‑region Cabernet from Coonawarra on the Limestone Coast, offering classic dark fruit depth with serious structure at a very fair price. It sits just below the Reserve tier, but still brings proper Coonawarra gravitas.

In the glass, expect inky dark maroon colour with notes of blackberry, boysenberry, ripe red cherry and blackberry pie, layered with pencil shavings, black granite, tar, sage, bay leaf, clove, winter pine, dark chocolate, tobacco and cigar pouch. The palate is taut and compact yet rich in texture, delivering blue and dark fruits wrapped in spicy French oak, firm but nicely integrated tannins and a long, savoury finish sitting at 14.5% alcohol.

This Limited Vineyard Release Coonawarra Cabernet 2020 is spot‑on with roast lamb, grilled rib‑eye, beef casseroles, venison or a hearty mushroom and lentil shepherd’s pie. It’s drinking well now and through to around 2027, making it a cracking option if you want serious Coonawarra character without stepping up to the Reserve price tag.
