Silvery gold in colour with a green hue. A complex & intense bouquet of fennel, gooseberries, blackcurrant & white peaches complemented by spicy oak overtones. Medium to full-bodied, showing good focus. Balanced yet concentrated, bordering on savouriness, with brisk acidity, stylish oak, & superb length. A great match to angel hair pasta with basil pesto.

2019 was a cool vintage where picking was approximately three weeks later than the long-term average. A labor-intensive season, which, despite the challenges of birds & disease, has produced some superb wines.

Sauvignon Blanc was hand-picked from our Karridale property on 16th March at 11.6°Bé. Semillon was picked from our original Wilyabrup vines on 5th March at 11.1°Bé, & also from our Metricup vineyard on 22nd March at 11.3°Bé. Each site is sustainably farmed following organic principles.

‘63/37% sauvignon blanc/semillon. Whole-bunch pressed to barrel for wild ferment, matured 10 months in French (20% new). The 20% new oak plays a very dominant role at this early stage, on both nose and palate, generating an aniseed, licorice, clove character that seeps into every other character of this wine. Juniper, cassis, gooseberry and stone fruit wait in the wings.
