Yarra Yering Dry White Wine No. 1 2022, made under the stewardship of winemaker Sarah Crowe in Yarra Valley, Victoria, is an outstanding white blend of Semillon (≈ 85%) and Chardonnay (≈ 15%). On the nose it offers pear flesh, grapefruit citrus and kaffir lime leaf, with stone fruit richness from the Chardonnay, subtle white blossom and jasmine tones. The palate is bright and crisp – green apple tang, vivid acidity – with neutral oak adding mid-palate weight, and a chalky, mineral-tinged finish. Awarded 96 points in James Halliday Wine Companion, this version excels now, yet promises graceful ageing for up to 8 years.
