Domaine Daniel Dampt et Fils Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet 2023 is a seriously impressive left‑bank premier cru – racy, floral and tightly coiled, with all the chalky drive you want from proper Chablis. Allen Meadows (Burghound) has it at 90–93 points, calling it “Excellent” and recommending drinking from 2028 onwards.

The nose mixes citrus confit, lemon and lime zest with acacia, white flowers, poached pear, green apple and a lick of iodine and wet stone. The palate is medium‑bodied but powerful – richer and more voluminous than many peers – with succulent, almost seductive texture carrying layered citrus, pear and white peach over a dense, chalk‑and‑flint mineral core. It finishes long, complex and beautifully balanced, the kind of premier cru that will really blossom with a few years in bottle.

Food‑wise, this Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet 2023 is perfect with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, lobster, sashimi or roast chicken with lemon and herbs, where its acidity and minerality slice through richness. It’s also brilliant with goat’s cheese, comté and roasted veg, and with its outstanding cellaring potential, it’s a savvy buy for anyone wanting age‑worthy, class
