Rusden Boundaries Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 from the Barossa is a bold, varietal Cabernet with plenty of blackcurrant and dark fruit wrapped in classic Barossa generosity. It’s very much a Cabernet for Shiraz drinkers – ripe, plush and structured, but still true to Cabernet’s leafy, savoury edge.

In the glass you can expect blackcurrant, blackberry and plum with cedar, tobacco, bay leaf and a touch of dark chocolate and spice. The palate is medium–full bodied with firm but ripe tannins, a core of dark fruit and a long, savoury finish that will respond well to a few years in the cellar or a decent decant.

On the table, it’s ideal with roast lamb, ribeye steak, beef short ribs, lamb shanks and hard cheeses, plus richer dishes like mushroom pie or braised beef. It’s a great option if you like Cabernet with real Barossa warmth and flavour but don’t want something overly oaky or overripe.
