Nashdale Lane Wines Colour Series Chardonnay 2023 from Orange is a medium‑bodied, elegant cool‑climate Chardonnay with ripe fruit, gentle oak and a creamy, moreish feel. It shows all the hallmarks of high‑altitude fruit from 900 metres with fine silt and basalt soils.

In the glass you get ripe apples, white peach, melon and guava wrapped up with lemon peel, vanilla, hazelnut, brioche and toast, thanks to time in French oak and on lees. The palate is smooth and creamy from partial malolactic fermentation and oak ageing (including 25% new 500L French puncheons) but kept in check by medium, refreshing acidity, giving a balanced, complex style that drinks well now and can age for up to eight years.

On the table, this 2023 Colour Series Chardonnay is excellent with grilled or roast chicken, pork, creamy and buttery seafood dishes (like scallops, salmon or richer white fish), roasted vegetables and hard cheeses, where its savoury oak, ripe fruit and cleansing acidity handle richness comfortably. Multiple hand‑picks, different yeast ferments and a mix of tank and barrel have built extra layers of flavour and texture, making it a versatile, food‑friendly Orange Chardonnay for both casual dinners and more polished meals.
