The founding families were involved in the wine industry and all saw the potential of the region to produce stunning aromatic white wines and elegant, complex reds. From growing the fruit to selling the wines, the partners sought to control all elements and create high quality wines of distinction. Our winery site was selected for its stunning alpine views and proximity to the region’s best cool climate fruit. 

In 2001 the cellar door was built and over the years it has won numerous awards. Some of these include ‘Best Alpine Winery’ for six consecutive years and the Victorian Tourism Awards for ‘Best Winery Cellar Door’. Our wines have also been acknowledged and to date Gapsted Wines have had great show success both locally and abroad – winning a staggering 26 Trophies and 83 Gold Medals.

Cellar Door

Open every day from 10am to 5pm (hours may vary due to private functions and Christmas).

Open for lunch everyday from 12pm to 3pm, excluding Christmas Day.

The Gapsted Wines’ winery, situated in the Alpine Valleys of North East Victoria, is located close to Myrtleford, and near Beechworth, Bright, Wangaratta and Milawa.
