Aligoté is a classic white grape variety most famously associated with Burgundy, France, where it has been cultivated since at least the 18th century. While often overshadowed by Chardonnay, Aligoté thrives on southeast-facing slopes and in warm, dry years, producing its best results in appellations like Bouzeron. The grape is also grown in Eastern Europe due to its tolerance for cold climates.
