About this product
ChaLou The Somm & The Winemaker Mourvèdre 2024 from Nadja Wallington and sommelier Louella Mathews is an aromatic, medium-bodied Orange red with all the spice, savoury detail and juicy drinkability you want from this underrated variety. It is a seriously good pizza wine with personality to spare.
Wild blackberry, dark cherry and plum meet sour cherry, dark chocolate, black olive, dried thyme and lavender. ChaLou Mourvèdre is distinctly spiced with clove and black pepper, showing a supple, chewy texture, bright acidity and a savoury whole-bunch lift that keeps its brooding fruit wonderfully fresh.
Serve this Orange Mourvèdre with pepperoni pizza, Scotch fillet, smoky lamb skewers or roasted eggplant with tahini. Its juicy dark fruit and spice thrive beside charred, salty flavours, while the fresh, medium-bodied structure makes it equally at home with a casual barbecue or a proper steak dinner.
