This 2022 Mac Forbes Little Yarra Pinot Noir is light on its feet but seriously complex, showcasing one of Mac’s coolest, most characterful single sites.

In the glass it sits a pale ruby and opens with morello cherry, wild raspberry, blood orange, rose petal and gentle herbal lift, with hints of rhubarb, spice and subtle earth. The palate is bright and pretty up front – wild raspberry, cherry pip and crunchy red fruits – then finishes savoury with chewy, talc‑like tannins, zesty acidity and a slate‑like, mineral feel that keeps everything ultra‑drinkable and moreish.

Food‑wise, this is brilliant slightly chilled with charcuterie, roast chicken, mushroom and thyme tarts or confit salmon, where that cool‑climate crunch really shines.
